To create your portrait I need high quality photographs to work from, and it is preferable to send several to get a good idea of the colours and markings of your pet. Ideally photographs should be taken outside in daylight, with the sun behind you. Try and take it at the pets eye level rather than looking down at them, and get close to them but stay in focus to give maximum detail. Make sure you capture their eyes! Sometimes it helps to get a friend to distract them with a treat so that you can concentrate on the photographing! Remember, I can only draw or paint what I see, so a good quality photograph is the most important part of the process!
